Shady Hill’s Jim is the full brother to CH Locke’s Sonny and carries the same tightly bred Jeep/Rascal foundation. A direct son of Jeep, Jim was produced from the breeding back into Jeep’s own family through Shady Hill’s Cricket (Rascal Jr. × Honeybunch), tying him into the same historical cross that shaped many of the breed’s most influential dogs.

More than forty years after his birth, Jim remains an active and proven sire — most recently producing a litter here at Live Wire Kennels through Tangy. Locke’s Billy is one of the rarest Jeep‑family dogs ever preserved, built on a tight father‑to‑daughter breeding that mirrors the foundation behind dogs like Chan’s Floyd, Long’s Werdo, and other historically influential APBTs. Billy is sired by Jeep (Bo × Honeybunch) and bred back to Jeep’s daughter, Garrett’s Raquel, who is off Jeep × Crenshaw’s Dolly (Otis × Honeybunch). This creates a concentrated Jeep × Honeybunch × Otis pedigree with deep ties to the same genetic combinations that shaped many of the breed’s greats.

What sets Billy apart is not just the quality of the breeding — it’s the scarcity. His owner kept the blood in‑house, breeding him very little and preserving it privately. As a result, authentic Billy blood is extremely rare today.

We were fortunate to have a long relationship with the kennel behind Billy and to acquire this frozen semen, giving us access to a piece of history few others hold. Even more valuable, we’ve known Billy dogs personally and have seen what they produce. Raging Bull’s Apache represents a powerful blend of the same blood that shaped our program. He is sired by Dunlavy’s (Schoolboy’s) Big Red, and out of Raging Bull’s Snowball, a daughter of Shady Hill’s Jim (Jeep × Shady Hill’s Cricket) bred to Alabama II, who is sired by Jeep × Garrett’s Alabama (Jeep × Reece’s Lady Moriah). We knew Apache from a pup and followed him throughout his life, eventually bringing him home and allowing him to spend his final years with us. Grof Kennel’s Gas represents one of the last remaining pure representatives of the Sirmium’s Dizny family — a deep, old‑world strain preserved in the Balkans long after similar blood faded from the U.S. His pedigree shows a tight, traditional structure built on dogs known for intensity, intelligence, and durability, hallmarks of the Dizny line.

Gas himself was a super‑intense but highly intelligent bulldog, the kind of dog whose reputation abroad was strong enough to warrant preservation. We imported frozen semen from him based on our knowledge of the dogs behind him and the consistent qualities this family produced. Even without being widely known in the U.S., Gas carried the type of old‑school presence that made the Dizny dogs stand out.
