Our Vision

We are a dedicated, Maryland-based kennel with a deep passion for the American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT), striving to highlight it as one of the finest breeds in the world. Our mission is to preserve and celebrate the historical bloodlines and pedigrees that define the APBT, while fostering the breed's future through genetic health testing, conformation, performance training, and a steadfast commitment to improving temperament.

Our Process

Our breeding process is carefully designed to ensure the health and well-being of our dogs. We conduct extensive health screenings to ensure that our puppies do not suffer from hereditary diseases known to the APBT. We also provide our dogs with the best possible care, including proper nutrition, exercise, and socialization.

At LWK, LLC, we uphold strict conformation standards by selecting breeding pairs with proven lineage and ideal physical traits. We prioritize structure, health, and temperament, following the ADBA breed standard to produce dogs with sound form and function.

Temperament, Obedience, & Socialization

We focus on cultivating stable and well-balanced temperaments by carefully selecting breeding pairs from bloodlines honed over generations of selective breeding, valued for their sound demeanor and social adaptability. Through early socialization and thorough in-house temperament assessments, we ensure our dogs and their offspring are prepared to thrive in any setting.

We are committed to ensuring that every dog we sell or place arrives in excellent health, demonstrates good manners, and embodies a loving temperament.

Training & Workability

We promote workability in our dogs placing a focus upon traits such as trainability, drive, problem-solving skills, and a strong willingness to cooperate with handlers. ensuring they excel in their tasks, e.g. herding, guarding, hunting, or assisting humans - providing companionship.

Traditionally, "gameness" describes a dog's willingness to persist in tasks, even under exhaustion or adversity—a trait highly valued in working and hunting breeds.

Today, the term "gamedog" often refers to breeds like the American Pit Bull Terrier, celebrated for their tenacity and resilience. These dogs are known for their steadfast commitment to tasks, such as hunting, weight pulling, and other demanding roles.

It’s important to acknowledge that, while "gamedog" highlights dogs with these working traits, the term has sometimes been linked to dog fighting - a practice that we neither condone nor support in any form. Responsible breeding and training are dedicated to channeling these dogs' drive toward positive and constructive pursuits.
